A container for the eucharistic elements ...

105. CROSSES

Crosses

We conclude our tour of the Treasury (and the Cathedral) with these ornate crosses. We might wonder how a crude wooden cross could morph into an object of such beauty, but perhaps there is a parable here.

CONCLUSION

I hope you have enjoyed visiting the Regensburg Cathedral with me. It is an amazing cathedral, and worth more time than I had!

I am happy to receive constructive comments or corrections concerning this website. The best websites are the ones which have no errors! I am grateful to my wife Margie who came with me, and who has proof-read these pages.

The textual information on this site relies heavily on the Cathedral booklet put out by Schnell and Steiner, and I am happy to acknowledge this source. Three of the photographs are not mine either, and these are acknowledged in the text. The windows of this cathedral are remarkable, and I have been disappointed with the resolution of my window photos. Is it the intricacy of the designs, the sheer size of the windows, or the photographer’s lack of skill ... ?
