33A. RAILWAY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING |
||
At the southern end of the old railway yards, and fronting the curve of Bower Crescent lower windowsstands an imposing two storey building. It is now a private dwelling, but I understand that it was once the Railway Administration Building. It has fine decoration along the roof line and down the quoins. Some extensive renovation (alteration) appears to have been made to the south east corner. Walking around the north face, we find that the house backs onto the property of the Aviation Museum. Some unsympathetic additions have been made here, but the and the upper windows still show attractive ornamentation. I would be delighted to obtain some history of this fine old building. |
