The ‘Star of the West’ Hotel was built in 1856. It was intended to be one of a chain of Hotels, but the builder, John Walwyn Taylor dies before the project came to fruition. TheHotel is proud of the fact that Cobb and Co’s coaches started operating from her when they begane serving Belfast (Port Fairy) in1859.
