44 JAmes Street

The Methodist Church (Uniting Church, old Wesleyan Church) commenced in 1855. This was the second church built by this denomination. The head of John Wesley carved over the doorway, somewhat obscured by the comparatively modern porch, is the work of the noted sculptor Walter Magill. The foundation stone was laid by Walter Witton.

There is a modern plaque on the gate post.
