39. HANLEY HOUSE
14 Sackville Street

HanleyHouseTree

Hanley House is well hidden behind a magnificent Moreton Bay fig tree. It is presently available as rental accommodation.

Earliest records show that Jane Chestel first leased the land here. At various times it was occupied by Thomas Southcombe, Dr D. Stanton, and the tailor John Sickler. In 1908 it became the home of the Hanley family, owners of the Port Fairy Gazette. It remained the family property until 1990 when the new owners named the house ‘Hanley House’.
