At age 70, after years of sedentary life in front of my computer, I have discovered the joy of walking!
It all began with an adventure safari in the Kimberley from which I inherited a pair of walking shoes and a backpack. Later I did a little local walking in preparation for a hike up Hollow Mountain in the Grampians. Now I am discovering delightful valleys and views in the Adelaide Hills, close to where I live. Since many of the trails are not marked, and there seems to be little information about some of them on the internet, I am happy to share the trails I have discovered (and am discovering). Hence this website. (Besides, it gives me something to do ... :-) ) Some other walks, further afield, are detailed in |

On my treks, I wear good walking shoes and a sun hat, I take my backpack with water, snacks, waterproof jacket, my pedometer, mobile phone, and trusty camera.
The times given will be seen as too long by younger, fitter walkers, but they will serve as a guide. The distances given are only approximate, being gauged from my pedometer. Again, these will serve as a guide. I hope you find these notes and shared experiences helpful, and that you develop the same love for the beautiful Adelaide Hills that I have. I would be happy to hear any reactions or suggestions from fellow walkers. Paul Scott |
