STROLL IN THE GARDENS

Today we visit the Adelaide Botanical Gardens, bounding North Terrace. We park the bus north of the Gardens in Botanic Drive, close to the Conservatory. There is a parking fee.

Our visit is late in the year, so we visit the Rose Garden which is looking beautiful. The Conservatory is impressive, but we visit this another time.

We now walk through to the new Mediterranean Garden, which will look even better as the years go by.

At the southern end of this Garden there are toilets, a gift shop, and the fascinating, if strangely named, Museum of Economic Botany, where we spend some time.

We proceed to the Gardens Kiosk for morning tea overlooking the pretty lake, before moving across to the renovated Palm House where there is a display of curious plants from Madagascar.

At this stage we retrace our steps to the bus, and drive to the nearby Walkers Arms Hotel on North East Road for a fine buffet lunch.

This is an easily organized but appreciated outing.
