In today’s outing we visit the Bureau of Meteorology in Kent Town, where we have booked (some months ahead!) a guided tour. We then proceed to the Marryativille Hotel for lunch.
The Weather Bureau is a distinctive looking building set in a cul-de-sac. Visiting buses can park in the allotted speace in front of the building.
The tour takes about 90 minutes with the group moving around the various locations within the Bureau, and having the techniques of information gathering and weather forecasting explained.
After an interesting tour, the group drives to the Marryativille Hotel (in nearby Marryatville) for lunch in Mulga Bill's Restaurant. The restauarnt has a feature wall with the funny story by Banjo Patterson about Mulga Bill and his bicycle. There is ample parking behind the hotel.
