This shrine to St Mary MacKillop is in the designated Blessed Sacrament Chapel. The picture of Blessed Mary MacKillop was blessed at the Mass during the parish pilgrimage in her honour on 19th March 1995 in the Josephite Chapel at North Sydney. INDEX
Nearby is a shrine to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, also known as Our Lady of Perpetual Help. This is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary as represented in a celebrated 15th-century Byzantine icon. The icon has been in Rome since 1499, and is permanently enshrined in the church of Sant’ Alfonso di Liguori, where the official Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help text is prayed weekly.
From this corner we turn and look back across the Cathedral. This completes an interesting tour!
I hope you have enjoyed visiting the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, Waitara with me. It is an unusual cathedral, and I found the people very friendly.
