61. ALTAR

Altar

Many cathedrals have a nave altar and a high altar, but Derby Cathedral has a single altar which is the centre of Sunday worship, and the place from where the Eucharist is administered. The frontal has a golden Chi-Rho symbol, together with the letters I C – two combinations standing for ‘Jesus Christ’ – the focus of the Christian faith. This completes our tour of Derby Cathedral.     PLAN
