We descend the way we came, pausing here again on the triforium. It is good to be able to look closely at the stained glass, here of Paul preaching before Agrippa. I reflect on the amount of loving detail which has been created in the making of this remarkable Cathedral. This completes our tour of Ely Cathedral.
I hope you have enjoyed visiting Ely Cathedral with me. Because of its great size and complexity, I think this has been the most difficult of all my cathedrals so far. But it is a magnificent building with a grand history. I am happy to receive constructive comments or corrections concerning this website. The best websites are the ones which have no errors!
I am grateful to my wife Margie who came to Ely with me, and who has proof-read these pages. Most of the photographs on this site are mine. Exceptions are acknowledged in the text. As usual, I take little credit for the text which has been drawn from a variety of sources: the excellent publications ‘Ely Cathedral’, ‘Stories in Stained Glass’, and ‘Ely Cathedral – A Short Tour’; the invaluable Wikipedia sites, and the Ely Cathedral website:
