In Catholic cathedrals, the ambo is a pulpit or lectern. This ambo has two figures sculpted into the front panel. PLAN
The beautiful corner display shows the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus, surrounded by flowers.
The Northern Choir is similar to the Choir on the South. The stalls are in Gothic style, with some minimal carved decoration.
I hope you have enjoyed visiting Bamberg Cathedral with me. I found it an interesting visit, although somewhat frustrating. Having no public access to either Choir end or the Crypt, limited the photographic coverage. This was compounded by the difficulty of photographing against the bright end windows. Taking a Cathedral tour would have resolved some of these issues, but time did not permit.
