This commercial two-storey building dates from 1881, when it provided offices for reporters of The Advertiser. The building also provided rented office space.

The building itself is interesting, described as ‘the only secular neo-Gothic building in Port Adelaide’. The gable proudly displays the name and date, and any old church would be proud of the doorways! A Gothic window also has special appeal.
