Port Adelaide’s Telegraph Station is a fine Italianate building which was completed in 1868. It first housed Port Adelaide’s telephone exchange, then became the headquarters for the Lighthouse Service, and the part of the Customs Service complex. The nicely restored building has a fine entry and impressive quoins.
