The Elder Smith wool store was erected in 1881. It is an ornate building (for a wool store!) with the firm’s name proudly displayed, and a fancy logo at the top of the gable.

There are many such wool stores in this part of the Port, and it is proposed that they be redeveloped into residential properties.
