21. ROYAL OAK HOTEL

This hotel is believed to have been built in 1857. The verandah was added later. From 1865 to the late 1990s the horel was called the Commercial Hotel, and this name can still be seen in the leadlight window over the main door. The hotel was a staging post for coaching companies for many years.
