The building was the second Post Office on this site before being purchased by the Borough in 1881. After alterations to the interior, it was first used for Council meetings in August 1882. Previously the Council has met at the Royal Merrijig Inn(#13) and in the stone building (#7) south of Seacombe House. Two striking features of this building are the surmounting clock and the front entry way. |
