The Consolidated School was built soon after the passing of the Education Act of 1872, and opened in November 1874. Originally State School No 1188, it became the Higher elementary School in 1925, and since 1949 has been known as the Consolidated School. It was built on the land originally intended for the gaol. The stone of which it is built was quarried from the site. |
