59. MARKET HOTEL |
||
The Market Hotel was built in 1873 to replace the ‘Volunteer Arms’, the licence continuing under William Osmond who died in 1876. The livestock yards were opposite and William’s four sons operated the butcher shop next door. Except for a short period ater William’s death, the Osmond family retained the licence until 1916. The licence lapsed in 1918.
