61. COMMON SCHOOL |
||
The school opened in July, 1870. It received State Aid and was obliged to give four hours of secular education each day under the Common Schools Act of 1862. Following the Education Act of 1872 the building was used as a Methodist Sunday School and a recreation centre. Note the words ‘Common School’ on the north end of the building.
