OLD MILL HOUSE

The Mill House was a miner’s cottage built in 1896. It is positioned on a hillside in the very centre of Walhalla, just below the Anglican Church, and overlooking the Band Rotunda and the Star Hotel. There appears to be almost no documented history of this old house, claimed to be the only original miner’s cottage available for rent in Walhalla.

Of course there may be some debate about the word ‘original’ after the renovations! A new sign with an old support advertises the property, which is now a bed and breakfast establishment. This photograph of the interior comes from the Mill House’s advertising material.
