Phillips Cottage has a history of being haunted. Apparently by a woman who insists on being introduced to guests. If this is not done she makes life difficult and unpleasant. When this is done she is fine. This has been reported by the owners to have happened numerous times. During our visit we were invited inside. I sensed a woman present quite hostile and not interested in communicating with me. There was however another woman present. Oldish I would say in her 80’s. She was not interested in communicating but did seem to totter around the place. There presences could be felt in a few places. In the back kitchen area I felt they had their backs turned to me to shun me. I was able to hold a booklet like a small personal diary which was found under the house some time ago. From this little leather bound diary I saw a man sitting in a cart on the back of a horse. It was quite a substantial cart. Next to him was a young man. If I had to guess I would think father and son or father and his nephew. I also got Phillips, Gregory or Jeffrey. Not exactly sure. Apparently Phillips Cottage is named after some old owners the Phillips. There relatives also built a mirror image of the house across the road. When we were leaving I touched the front of the original building to get impressions. While I was standing there concentrating a mans voice boomed in my face “What’s all this about” I jumped back startled asking Flutterbit and the owners whether they had heard that. The replied no but they heard me swear. While I was touching the building I saw men making the building. They seemed to be intent on their work. Enjoying making a home.
