17A. FIRST COMMERCIAL INN
29 – 31 Commercial Road

Hotel

The Commercial Inn was opened in January 1841 by John Thomas Haynes. It holds the longest surviving hotel licence in Port Adelaide. (Publicans seem to be very fond of records such as this!)

The hotel is adorned with a fancy balcony railing, and the old chimney design also reveals the age of this hotel.
