VALLEY RAILWAY

RailwayTrack

The stretch of railway line between Walhalla and Thomson has been reopened, and a ride on the Goldfields Railway Train is one not to be missed!

The old track has been reconstructed for some 20 kilometres to where it crosses the Thomson River. The Thomson River Rail Bridge was constructed in 1909, and was restored by the Walhalla Goldfields Railway in 1993/1994 after some 50 years of lying idle. A nearby sign gives further details.
