The St Vincent Chambers were built in 1883 for the Hon. Alexander Hay, a prominent citizen of the day, who lived at Mount Breckan in Victor Harbor.

We notice the decorative front gable, and the prominent name plaque displayed at roof level. The eastern end view of the building shows solid construction combined with a certain artistic flair.
