This Bridge Keeper’s Gallery and Box was a part of Jervois Bridge, the only swing bridge in South Australia. It was opened in 1878 and demolished in 1969. The operator of the swing bridge worked from the central box of this structure. The gallery featuresa plaque dedicated in 1994, headed ‘Historic Engineering Marker’. The plans of the gallery show something of the planning detail.
