STORES AND MINERS’ CAFÉ

Moving south along the Main Road from the old Bank Vault we come to the Walhalla Stores and Miners’ Café. The café has an interesting interior with a wall of old-time implements and memorabilia. The General Store carries the name of Norm and Rhonda Aquilina – the present owners?

Neither of these establishments is original. However, there must surely be a wealth of stories, old photographs and historical recollections about the original premises, but I have been unable to find any of them. Help please!

I’m always interested in the kerbing of these old towns – different from the neat segmented kerbing of today.
