The cottages with numbers 26 – 30 Campbell Street were built ca 1860 by Messrs William Earle, John Hooper (stonemason) and Thomas Southcombe (carpenter) who travelled from Devon, England together on the ‘Clara’. William Earle, the author of the first ‘History of Port Fairy’, was three years old when his parents came to the town. Number 24 is also an old house of great character. |
